True meaning and purpose buried deep down
It has been a turn of events I must say.
A change for the future.
Uncertainties ahead but slowing unfolding..
Mixed feelings, as some say, being happy that there is now an alternate voice for the people, and sad because Singapore lost 2 very humble and important figures.
Personally felt that Minister George Yeo contributed a lot to the nation and really listened to the residents at the ground level. And Mr Zainul Abidin bin Mohamed Rasheed, a truly nice and humble man. Don't really have the opportunity to really know him but you just get that warm feeling when you are around him. You sense his honesty and sincerity deep down..
Anyway, that aside, I am feel the inner sadness. For the true meaning and purpose of bringing people together from all walks of life, helping the needy, caring for the well-being of the ageing population etc.. All has been lost in a "battleground."
Being in the organisation and knowing that the beginning of its intention was for the good of all people in Singapore, you feel upset. When you see politics coming into play, people choose sides, support them and objectives and aims gets blurred. Slowly, it becomes protecting of self-interests and ambitions. Then you ask, what happen to the true meaning and purpose?
Why do people have to make a clear stand of support to a particular side where the aim is to be coming together to serve the people with a heart and not make things difficult for each other to carry out the objectives?
Just like with fun, merry, joy and presents at the end of the year, the true meaning of Christmas is buried in people's hearts...
